This book for beginners in PostScript grew from a series of introductory articles written for the British Printing Society. It shows how simple computer text editors can be used to write professional typesetting instructions. The text and illustrations of the book were typeset by procedures similar to those described, without the use of any commercial or proprietary DTP software.
The author is a former lecturer in communications and information technology and no previous knowledge of computer languages is required by the reader.
